On the Ordinary Theology page of this site you can download my paper looking at some new kinds of Theology (eg Practical, Pastoral) which claim to be rooted in the experience of believers, and attempt to adopt a listening stance towards them. It charts the relationship between my own version of Ordinary Theology, which takes as its starting point reflections on a liberation theology for ordinary people, and Prof J Astley’s version, which examines the theology of those without theological training. It suggests two sets of topics, the exploration of which would develop Ordinary Theology, helping it to fulfil Theology’s liberative and apologetic vocations.
The topics I suggest are set out on the Ordinary Theology page; some pieces on some of those topics are gradually being added to the website.
